A Tilt Shift experiment. ___________________________
Tilt-shift miniature faking is a process in which a photograph of a life-size location or object is manipulated so that it looks like a photograph of a miniature scale model. By distorting the focus of the photo, the artist simulates the shallow depth of field normally encountered with macro lenses making the scene seem much smaller than it actually is. (Wiki)
I mean like those two bushed near the bottom of the image that are only half blurred should be all blurred because they are closest to the "camera". At least I think that's how it would work.
Well I do sort of agree; The trees in the foreground don't have an ideal placement for tilt shift... But tilt shift doesn't make stuff blurry randomly, it makes two fine "lines" of blurr, at the top and the bottom. Making two blurry bumps in the middle of the shot would in my opinion not be pretty. And to move the bottom blurr that high would cut off vital pieces of the building in the back.
Yeah I guess you're right. In Photoshop you can just manually unmask the trees to blur them, but you're right, that would change the effect. Regardless, it's a nice picture that is well done.
Well this is a bit of a tricky one because it is actually a miniature ^^ It's from Madurodam in Holland (miniature place) but everything looks way too real. When we looked at the pictures, everyone thought it was real buildings. So I thought it would be good to do a Tilt Shift experiment, after all I want my miniature to look like miniature! ^^
